DAVENPORT, FLA.—The Bethel University baseball team opened their spring break trip with a 10-3 loss to Coe in Davenport, Florida on Friday morning.
The Royals fall to 3-1, while the Kohawks improve to 5-4.

Bethel finished with 12 hits, which included solo home runs from Seth Nelson in the sixth inning, and Chris Cannon in the eighth. Those two shots accounted for the Royals' two-of-three team RBI's in the contest. It was Coe who delivered with runners in scoring position with 13 hits that resulted in nine RBI and four runs in the third and sixth innings, which gave them enough cushion in a 10-3 victory.
Seth Nelson's home run highlighted his 2-for-5 outing at the plate, while Cannon's home run made up his 1-for-3 game that included two walks. Drew Girtz and Sam Abbas each finished 2-for-4 with one double.
Jackson Hunter, Brady Schmidt, Brandon Witter, and Owen Mortimer each saw action on the pitching rubber for the Royals. They combined for nine strikeouts and just two walks.
Coe starter Jack Walsh allowed seven hits, just one run, and notched eight strikeouts over six innings of work. The Kohawks got multi-hit outings at the plate from six players.
Bethel will face Rowan in Orlando, Florida tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 at 4 p.m. (ET).
