ROGERS, MINN.—The Bethel University women's tennis team opened their 2026 season with a 5-2 victory over NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University at the Rogers Tennis Club on Saturday.

The Royals improve to 1-0, while the Huskies fall to 0-2.

The doubles point belonged to Bethel thanks to a 6-1 win from Lauryn Douglas/Michaella Sullivan at No. 1, and a 6-3 victory from Claire Keller/Elzeda Walvatne at No. 3.

Douglas carried that momentum into singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1, as did Sullivan at No. 2 by a 7-5, 6-0 score. Payton Douglas rounded out the Royals victories with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 6. Falling in extra sets was Elisabeth Langhus 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

Bethel will host UW-Eau Claire at the Rogers Tennis Center on Sunday, February 15 at 4:30 p.m.
