AFCA RELEASE
ST. PAUL, Minn. -Â Bethel University senior defensive back Devin Williams has been named to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, one of the most prestigious honors in college football recognizing student-athletes for their dedication to serving others.
Williams, a standout leader on and off the field, is one of only 22 players nationwide selected to the team, which is chosen annually by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Allstate Insurance Company. The award highlights student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in volunteerism, community service, and impact beyond the game.
This year's honor also marks a historic milestone for Bethel Football: the 13th consecutive year a Bethel student athlete has been named to the AFCA Good Works Team, extending one of the longest streaks in the nation.
At Bethel, Williams has made a lasting difference through his commitment to service. He has been deeply involved in BUILD, a program designed to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through BUILD, Williams has spent countless hours walking alongside students as a mentor, tutor, and friend-helping them grow academically, socially, and personally.
Following the 2024 season, Williams was named All-Region and is a two-time All-Conference honoree as a defensive back. As a freshman Williams was named Rookie of the Year in the MIAC.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team was established in 1992 by the College Football Association, recognizing the extra efforts made by college football players and student support staff off the field. The AFCA became the governing body of the award in 1997 and continues to honor college football players who go the extra mile for those in need Allstate worked to present the award starting with the 2008 season.
