Will Karkoc surged to the top of the leaderboard at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, sitting in first place with a three-stroke lead after two rounds. Playing as Bethel's first-ever individual at-large earner into the championship, he's carded a six-under-par 138 through 36 holes.
Karkoc opened the tournament with an impressive 4-under 68. His round was highlighted by a brilliant front-nine 32, including birdies on holes 2, 6, 7, and 8. He remained consistent on the back nine, carding an even-par 36.
In Round 2, he maintained his momentum behind six birdies, firing a 2-under 70. Starting strong with a front-nine 35, he stayed composed under championship pressure, finishing the back nine with another 35.
He currently leads the field with 11 total birdies and is a field-leading five-under scoring on par-four holes.
The NCAA Championships will continue on Friday. Karkoc's third round begins at 9:30 a.m. from the No. 1 tee.
