Women’s Tennis Opens Season with Sweep of UW-Stevens Point, 7-0

ROGERS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team opened up the 2025 campaign with a clean 7-0 sweep of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Friday evening at Rogers Tennis Club. It's the third consecutive season that BU has opened the year with a shutout victory.

A note for fans that this season the NCAA announced a new scoring format pilot for Division III teams in non-conference matches. There will be seven team points and the team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives one dual match point. Each singles match is worth one point.

In addition, doubles matches will be a 6-game set with a 7-point tiebreak at 6-all. Singles will be a best-of-three

The Royals took the doubles point thanks to their No. 1 and No. 2 doubles squads not dropping a game.

Emma Thole at No. 5 singles and Courtney DeWall (Nuest) at No. 6 singles didn't drop a single game in their two-set victories.
