Littlefield’s Career-High Night off the Bench Lands Royals Back in Win Column with 67-52 Win at Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bethel University women's basketball team got back in the win column with a 67-52 win at Concordia Wednesday evening. The Royals had three scorers in double figures, led by Macey Littlefield's career-high 14 points off the bench.

Lydia Hay added 11 points and six rebounds while Anna Garfield added 10 points. Elly Schmitz grabbed a game-high nine boards while adding two blocks.

Bethel held a big advantage on the boards by a 37-19 margin. Bethel finished at 49 percent from the field while holding the Cobbers to 34 percent.

The Royals raced out to a 6-0 lead before Cobbers tied it up at 10-10 with 4:44 to go in the opening quarter. Bethel took the lead for good closing the quarter on a 8-2 run for an 18-12 advantage.

The Cobbers got within three of the Royals with 3:04 left to go. It'd be the last bucket BU allowed before the break as their 6-0 run sent them into the locker room up 33-24.

Garfield got the Royals' lead into double digits less than two minutes into the third quarter. Her layup with 43 seconds left in the quarter gave Bethel its largest lead of the night at 54-36. BU's big third quarter on the offense side saw them outscore the Cobbers 23-14.

Both teams were held to three field goals in the fourth while the Cobbers did most of their work at the charity stripe, where they were 7-of-10 in the final frame.
