ALL-TIME GAGLIARDI TROPHY WINNERS
COLLEGEVILLE, MINN.—Bethel University football junior wide receiver Albert Rundell is among 15 semifinalists for the 2025 Gagliardi Trophy, presented by Stearns Bank.
Rundell, who is among four wide receivers on the list, has 105 receptions for 1489 yards and 21 touchdowns through 11 games played in 2025.
The Watertown, Minnesota native's 1489 receiving yards leads all levels of college football. He ranks second in NCAA Division III with 21 touchdown catches, and sits at No. 3 with 9.55 receptions per game. Rundell's 126 points scored is good enough for eighth nationally, while his 136.82 all-purpose yards per game leads all MIAC players.
His MIAC-record 21 receptions and five touchdown grabs highlighted the Royals in their 49-7 victory over Carleton on November 8. The 21 catches surpassed the previous school record of 16 accomplished two other times. It was also the most from a MIAC player since October 13, 2018. The five touchdown grabs beat out the school record of four accomplished multiple times, and tied the MIAC record that occurred on two other occasions. Rundell finished that game with 214 yards receiving.
He finished with a school-record 246 yards receiving on 11 catches that included two touchdowns in a 64-10 victory over St. Olaf.
Rundell was named November 10 MIAC Offensive Player of the Week, and D3football.com Team of the Week (Week 10). His stellar 2025 campaign landed him a spot on the 2025 MIAC Football All-Conference Team.
This is the second-straight season a Bethel Royal was named a Gagliardi Trophy Semifinalist after Matt Jung in 2024.
The Gagliardi Trophy, given annually since 1993, recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service. The award is named after the late John Gagliardi, Saint John's legendary Hall of Fame head football coach who retired in 2012 with 489 career victories, the most in college football history. Gagliardi passed away in October 2018 at the age of 91.
