Bethel University snapped a two-game skid with a 3–1 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Friday afternoon at the Recreation Outdoor Center in St. Louis Park. Playing outdoors at 2 p.m. under brutally cold conditions with feels-like temperatures dipping into the single digits, the Royals battled not just a tough opponent but the winter elements that define a Minnesota December.
After a goalless first period, Bethel took control in the second period when
Spencer Kring redirected a puck into the net for his second goal of the season, giving the Royals a 1–0 edge.
In the third period,
Tyler Braccini extended the lead with a power-play goal before Milwaukee School of Engineering's Jackson Hughes answered to keep the Raiders within striking distance. Bethel responded quickly as Braccini sealed the win with an empty-net tally late in regulation to push the Royals' advantage to 3–1. Bethel's defense and goaltending held firm throughout, limiting MSOE's opportunities and preserving the win as the Royals look to build momentum finishing up the series against MSOE tomorrow, Saturday December 13th,
indoors the St. Louis Park Recreation Center for a 2 p.m. puck drop.
