ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—Eli Nowacki (football), Tyler Kostelecky (men's hockey), and Sophie Martin (women's hockey) make up the trio of Royals to land November 3 MIAC Athlete of the Week.
November 3 MIAC Football Athletes of the Week
Offensive: Donald West (St. Scholastica)
Defensive: Jason Weaver (Macalester)
Special Teams: Eli Nowacki (Bethel)
Nowacki nailed a 48-yard field goal as the first half expired in a 55-9 road victory over Concordia (Minn.) on November 1. It was the longest field goal from a MIAC kicker since October 26, 2019, when Carleton's Trent Ramirez converted a 48-yard field goal against St. Thomas.
Nowacki averaged 55.0 yards over 10 kickoffs, and 36.5 yards over four punts in the contest.
November 3 MIAC Women's Hockey Athletes of the Week
Offensive: Sophie Martin (Bethel)
Defensive: Harper Powell (Hamline)
Martin registered three goals and six shots in the Royals' 9-0 shutout of MSOE at home on November 1. She dished one assist and peppered six shots in Bethel's season-opening 4-2 victory over MSOE on October 31.
November 3 MIAC Men's Hockey Athletes of the Week
Offensive: Tyler Kostelecky (Bethel)
Defensive: Ryan Nolan (St. Olaf)
Kostelecky scored three goals, including one on the power play, and fired five shots in the Royals' season-opening 6-2 victory over first-year program Beloit at the National Sports Center on November 1.
