ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men's basketball team fell to Augustana (Ill.) 87-53 at the Robertson Center Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Royals fall to 1-1, while the Vikings improve to 2-0.

Augustana led from start-to-finish in a game that saw 11 players contribute scoring, highlighted by Andre Klaver's 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, four rebounds, and three steals off the bench. Jake Willems rounded out the double-digit scoring Vikings with 14 points on a 7-of-9 clip from the field, four rebounds, and two steals. The duo engineered a Vikings unit that shot a stellar 38-of-69 (.551) clip from the field, and held Bethel to an 18-of-56 (.321) mark. Staishaun Kelly paced the Vikings with four steals.
Sam Gingras led the Royals with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, two blocks, and two assists. Nick Burke was next with 13 points and a team-leading six rebounds.Â
Bethel got scoring from nine-of-13 individuals who saw playing time.Â
The Royals will travel to NCAA Division II UW-Parkside for an exhibition game on Tuesday, November 18 at 5:30 p.m. Their next regular season game is at Buena Vista on Saturday, November 22 at 6 p.m.
