NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The No. 4 seed Bethel University women's volleyball team saw their 2025 season come to an end following a 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-16) loss at top-seed St. Olaf in the MIAC Playoff Volleyball Semifinal on Thursday night.
The Royals conclude their season with a 15-11 record, while the Oles will advance to the 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoff Championship Game against No. 3 seed Saint Benedict on Saturday night with a 26-7 mark. This was Bethel's 11th all-time appearance in the 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoff Semifinal.
St. Olaf 3, Bethel 0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-16)
Hannah Penke paced Bethel with eight kills, followed by six and a .200 hitting percentage from Sara Scherber. Sophia Rubio had 20 assists, while Grace Therrien paced the defense with 11 digs.
St. Olaf's .336 hitting percentage was the most by a Bethel opponent this season. Evelyn Kreft and Mehsa Krause had a lot to do with that with 14 kills apiece. Krause also had 14 digs, while 2025 MIAC Defensive Player of the Year Morgan Ryan led the team with 16. Paige Christopherson finished with 21 assists, followed by 17 from Sophie Saxton.
Playing in their final collegiate match for the Royals are seniors Eleanor Pelzel, Sophie Jacques, and Olivia Johnson.
