BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team picked up its second shutout in three games blanking Nichols in the weekend series opener, 4-0, Friday evening at the National Sports Center.
The Royals took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission with goals from
Beth Velasco and
Maddy Schuster. The Royals held the Bison to four shots on frame while tallying nine themselves.
Kallie Abrahamson netted BU's final two scores, doing so with under five minutes left in the second and at the 15:12 mark of the third. The third-period goal came while the Royals were shorthanded. BU finished the night 5-for-5 on the penalty kill
