LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 19th consecutive season the Bethel University volleyball team earned AVCA Team Academic Honors, sponsored by INTENT, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Wednesday afternoon. The streak ranks third longest in NCAA Division III and is tied for the 10th longest among all NCAA Divisions. 

Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, the award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year. 

The Royals were also designated as a Team Academic Honor Roll school in which their 3.666 GPA this past year was in the top 20 percent of Division III.

The Royals concluded the 2023 season 11-15 overall and 6-5 in MIAC play. BU earned the fifth seed in the MIAC Playoffs making its 16th overall appearance and ninth consecutive appearance.
