ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel baseball team returned to Hargis Park Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader matchup with the Hamline Pipers.

The Pipers took an early 4-0 lead in game one, but the Royals battled back taking a lead in the sixth on a
Zach Thompson bases-clearing triple for a 5-4 lead. Hamline plated a pair in the seventh, winning by a final score of  6-5.

Bethel grabbed an early in game two plating four runs in the second, adding on in the fourth and fifth to build a 7-0 lead.
Matthew Carlsen ended it in the seventh with a three-run homer to straight away, capping off a five-run inning to win by a final score of 12-0.

The Pipers grabbed an early advantage in game one with a three-run homer to left followed by a solo shot, for a 4-0 lead.

Bethel broke through in the fifth,
Zach Thompson led the inning off with a double to center,
Isaac Call drove him in with a double of his own down the line in left. Call later advanced to third and scored on a groundout by
Andrew Cardenas.

Carlsen led off the sixth by dumping a single over the head of the Piper shortstop into left. Later in the inning Thompson lined a bases clearing triple inside the right field foul line giving the Royals a 5-4 lead.

Hamline struck for two in the top of the seventh holding on to win 6-5.

Ty Koehn brought in the game's first run on a sacrifice fly to straight away center. Nolan Jurgensen doubled to right center for the Royals second run and
Carson Christiansen capped off the four run second with an RBI single past the Hamline first baseman.

Jackson Hunter took the hill for the Royals in game two tossing 7.0 innings allowing no earned runs, four hits, one walk and striking out seven batters. Earning the win in the process his first of the season.

Jordan Krupke added to the Royals lead in the fourth hitting a towering solo home run to straight away left.

In the bottom of the fifth
Noah Wenberg plated a pair with a single through the left side of the infield giving Bethel a 7-0 lead.

Nolan Jurgesen lined a ball past the Piper third baseman, scoring two extending the lead to 9-0 in the seventh.

Later in the inning Mattew Carlsen ended it with a three-run shot to straight away right, tying the career record for runs in the process at 151, for a 12-0 final in game two.
