Koehn and Sutter Lead The Way On The Mound In Sweep Of Cobbers

MOORHEAD, Minn – A pair of standout pitching performances from Ty Koehn and Max Sutter were key in Bethel's sweep of Concordia on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Ty Koehn took the mound for the Royals in game one tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits striking out four and earning the complete game shutout victory for his third win of the season. The Royals plated three in the second and two in the third both via the long ball to win 5-0. 
 
In game two Max Sutter allowed an early run in the first but recovered to throw eight innings allowing just the one run, nine hits, no walks. Earning his first win of the year in the Royals 6-1 victory. Bethel improves to 13-10 on the year and 6-4 in the MIAC.
 
Game one Bethel 5, Concordia 0:
 
Ty Koehn got the start on the mound for the Royals in game one going seven strong for the complete game shutout, striking out four and allowing just three hits. 
 
In the top of the second Issac Call gave the Royals an early advantage with a three-run homer over the left field fence. 
 
Bethel added on in the third after a Nolan Jurgenson leadoff walk set up a Jordan Krupke two-run homer to left extending the Royal lead to 5-0. 
 
Game two Bethel 6, Concordia 1:
 
The Cobbers grabbed an early lead, scoring on a single to left center in the bottom of the first. 
 
The Royals answered in the top of the second, Xavier Lortie leadoff the inning with a double over the head of the Concordia centerfielder. Carson Christiansen brought him home with a single up the middle tying the game at one. 
 
Bethel grabbed the lead in the third on a Carson Christiansen single to right center bringing home two runs. 
 
After pitching out of a jam in the first Max Sutter settled in, tossing 8.0 innings, allowing just the one earned run, issuing no free passes and nine hits for his first win of the season. 
 
Issac Call hit his second homer of the day in the ninth, a three-run bomb over the right center field wall to give the Royals a 6-1 lead.

The Royals look to build on their three game win streak Wednesday as they head to Northfield for a conference matchup with St.Olaf. Game one is set to start at 2:30 p.m.
