VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - Jayson Ekiyor and Jacob Parent both re-set program records as the Royals advanced 4 individuals and the 4x400m relay team to the finals at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Jayson Ekiyor won his heat of the 60 meter hurdles in a personal best time of 7.92 seconds. That time broke his previous program record and is now the 10th fastest 60 meter hurdler in Division III history. Josh Sampson placed 10th overall with his time of 8.12 seconds. Ekiyor will run in the final on Saturday at 1:10PM Central.Â
Jacob Parent broke his own program record in the prelims of the 400m dash with his time of 47.66 seconds. Parent will go into the final with the 2nd best time from the prelims. Grant Nelson also qualified for the final as he kicked down the field in his heat to win in 47.91 - a personal best time. Both Parent and Nelson will race at 2:40PM Central in Saturday's final.
Landen Liu won his heat of the 60 meter dash, winning in 6.75 seconds. Liu will race in the finals at 1:35PM Central on Saturday. Jacob Parent took 10th overall in the 60m with his time of 6.84 seconds.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Nelson, Josh Thomsen, Sampson, and Parent won their heat and advanced to the final with a season best time of 3:13.56. The Royals will run in the final on Saturday at 4:40PM Central.
