ROGERS, Minn. – Bethel women's tennis got off to an early 3-0 lead, winning all doubles matches by a narrow margin. They then entered into singles play, where each player found themselves trailing by at least a game immediately in the first set. However, the women battled hard and grew their lead 5-1, ultimately taking the match 7-2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Emma Thole defeated her opponent in straight sets at 5th singles, only giving up one game
• 1st singles player Lauryn Douglas found herself down 1-4 in the first set, battled back, winning 3 games in a row to bring it to 4-4, and exchanged two breaks before ultimately losing the match 5-7, 1-6.
• Freshman Michaella Sullivan found herself trading leads with her opponent, taking her first set to a tiebreak, easily winning it 7-3. She then began the second set the same way, but was able to take control at 3-3, winning the next three games for a 6-3 win.

Up Next:
The women travel to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida for spring break and will take on Piedmont University Sunday Mar. 10th. The Royals will play five matches throughout the week.
