HOW IT HAPPENED
• Starter
Ty Koehn worked out of a jam in the second stranding a pair of Duhawks in scoring position.
• A leadoff single by
Tommy Friesen in the third and a double to the gap in right by
Zach Thompson put a pair in scoring position for BU.
Matthew Carlsen and
Quentin Platt would each drive in runs on sacrifice flies to center.
• BU tacked on another run in the fourth when
Jacob Johnson's sacrifice fly scored
Jordan Krupke who reached on a single earlier in the frame.
• Loras got one back in the sixth as the leadoff single scored on a wild pitch. In the seventh they made it 3-2 with a two-out RBI double to the gap in left.
• In the eighth,
Jordan Krupke got on with a one-out hit by pitch. He'd move into scoring position on a wild pitch. With
Noah Wenberg pinch hitting, he hit a shot deep in the hole at short, enough to get Krupke to third. The throw from short to first went wild allowing Krupke to score the insurance run.
•
Ryan Parker picked up the save tossing a scoreless ninth stranding two runners on after giving up back-to-back walks.
