A late goal lifted the No. 5 rated Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties to a 1-0 victory over the Bethel men's soccer team. The loss brings the Royals to a record of 6-4 in the MIAC and 10-7 overall.
How It Happened:
- The first half saw tight competition between the two teams as the Royals narrowly edged out the Gusties for the lead in shots, 7-4. But, in the second half, the Gusties picked up the intensity, and the Royals couldn't seem to match it.
- In the 76th minute, the Gusties found the back of the net, finally getting past the BU defense and goalkeeper Griffin Blokker. Posting 9 shots to the Royals' 4, Gustavus dominated the second half and was able to secure the victory.
What's Next:
The Royals will return to Ona Orth Athletic Complex for their final game of regular season this Tuesday, Oct. 29, for a 2 p.m. matchup against Nebraska Wesleyan University.
