Howie Named MIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week For Second Time this Season

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Sophomore middle blocker Peyton Howie was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. 

Howie paced the Bethel offense to a pair of conference victories hitting .531 with a combined 37 kills in seven sets (5.29 per set) while tallying a 6.29 points per set average. In a three-set victory at Hamline on 10/9, Howie tallied 13 kills on 24 swings for a .500 hitting percentage while committing just one error. She helped the Royals stay unbeaten in MIAC play tallying a career-high 24 kills in a four-set win over Saint Benedict on 10/12. She added two service aces and five total blocks, four of which were solo against the Bennies. In conference matches this year, Howie leads the MIAC in hitting percentage, kills and points. 

The Royals look to extend their seven-match winning streak at St. Scholastica on Wednesday before hosting Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
