The Bethel women's soccer team suffered a tough loss to the Saint Mary's University Cardinals, 4-0. The loss moves the Royals to a season standing of 5-5-2 and a MIAC standing of 1-4-1.
How It Happened:
- The Cardinals dominated the first half, earning themselves a hefty three-goal lead after scoring at 15:34, 29:21, and 32:54. The Royals struggled to make things happen in the offensive third, notching just five shots to the Cardinals' nine.
- Things began to look up in the second half for Bethel as they turned the momentum in their favor, pressuring the Cardinals hard in the final third. But, even outshooting the Cardinals 11-8 couldn't find them the offensive edge, and another SMU goal at 83:30 sealed the final score at 4-0, Cardinals.
What's Next:
The Royals will return to the pitch at Ona Orth Athletic Complex this Wednesday, Oct. 16, for a matchup against the Augsburg University Auggies. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
