LE SUEUR, Minn. – In its final tune-up before the MIAC Championships, the No. 16th-ranked Bethel University men's golf team notched a second-place finish at the Twin Cities Classic.
The Royals carded an 879 (291-287-301) in the 54-hole event falling one stroke short of Carleton who placed first. Gustavus Adolphus finished third with an 882.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Royals were led by
Will Karkoc who notched his best individual finish of the year placing second. He fired a 215 over the three days highlighted by a six-under-par 66 in round two which is the second-lowest round carded in program history. He had three birdies on par fours, three birdies on par fives and birdies the par-three 17th green. Karkoc shot an even 72 in round one before finishing the tournament with a 77 in round three.

Jacob Hall had placed seventh with a 220. He shot a season-low 72 in both the first and third round while shooting a 76 on Sunday.

Jacob Ferrin rounded out the top 10 with a ninth-place finish, his best of the season, carding a 221. After firing a 75 in round one, he carded a two-under-par 70 in round two with three birdies on the final 10 holes. He rounded out the tournament with a 76 on Monday.

The Royals look to defend their MIAC title this weekend as the 2024 MIAC Championships is set to be played at Braemar Golf Course in Edina. The 54-hole event kicks off Saturday, Oct. 5.
