DULUTH, Minn. – A young Bethel University women's tennis squad that saw three freshman in the lineup suffered a season-opening loss to Minnesota Duluth Friday evening, 6-3.
The Royals relied on veteran leadership to pick up two points in singles play and a doubles win at No. 2
HOW IT HAPPENED

Elise Bierbaum and freshman
Lauryn Douglas picked up the first point winning No. 2 doubles 6-3.
• Sophomore
Emma Thole and senior
Rylee Schurman at No. 2 doubles had the biggest battle of the night coming back from down 0-5 to pull within 4-5 where they had two points to tie it back up before coming up just short.
• Thole picked up the win at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2.
• Schurman battled at No. 4 singles winning a third set super tiebreaker.
