Men’s Tennis Earns Comeback Victory over Wartburg in Spring Opener

ROGERS, Minn. – Trailing 3-0 after doubles play, the Bethel University men's tennis team earned a season-opening victory taking five of the six singles matches over Wartburg, 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• All three doubles matches were close including needing a tiebraker at No. 1, but it was the Knights who came out on top of all three.
• Freshman Jackson Meyer picked up a win at No. 1 singles as the Knights No. 1 player retired with Meyer up 4-3.
• Freshmen Dylan Magistad (No. 3 singles) and Robert Seaton (No. 4 singles) also earned their first collegiate wins as part of the comeback.
• It came down to sophomore Brett Eliason at No. 5. Eliason took a narrow first set 7-5 before dropping the second. The third-set super tiebreaker was a dandy as Eliason pulled it out 10-7 giving BU its first win of the season.
