Women’s Hockey Drops Senior Night Battle with Hamline in Overtime

BLAINE, Minn. –  An overtime goal by Hamline in the series opener handed the Bethel University women's hockey team an overtime loss on senior night, 2-1.

Prior to the game the Royals honored three seniors in Ally Halverson, Emily Roder and Lexi DeBace for their time and dedication to the program.

The loss officially drops Bethel out of the MIAC playoff race falling to 8-15-1 on the year and 5-12 in MIAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hamline opened the scoring 2:47 into the game while also holding the shots on goal battle 11-9 after one period.
• The Royals evened it up as Lindsay Muntifering tallied her fifth goal of the season while BU was on the power play. Taking a pass from Julia McAlpin and Kallie Abrahamson, Muntifering fired a slap shot from just inside the blue line that made it through traffic.
• A scoreless third where BU only got four shots off and netminder Anna Hanson stopped all eight Piper shots forced a 3-on-3 overtime.
• HU gained the extra MIAC point scoring with 1:28 left in OT.
