NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel women's hockey team picked up a MIAC-opening weekend sweep coming away with a 2-1 win over St. Olaf Saturday afternoon in Northfield. The Royals move to 2-0-0 in conference play and 3-1-0 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
•
Lindsey Albers got the ball rolling for the Royals eight minutes into the first period, skating the puck up and slotting it into the upper lefthand corner and past the St. Olaf goaltender for the first Bethel goal.
• The Oles evened the odds just two minutes into the second period when a Royal penalty put them on a power play. All it took was 17 seconds for the Oles to tie it up.
• The Royals found the edge again in the with under five minutes to go in the second doing so on their own power play.
Abbie DeLong wrapped around the net and snuck the puck in to light up the lamp.

Anna Hanson made 15 saves of her 31 saves in the third period.

The Royals hit the road next Friday, Nov. 17, when they take on the defending national champions Gustavus Adolphus Gusties. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. in St. Peter.
