MOORHEAD, Minn. – Lexi DeBace tallied her second point of the game with an emphatic overtime goal landing the Bethel University women's hockey team with its first MIAC win and third overall win of the season by defeating the Cobbers 3-2. After falling behind 2-1 in the third period, BU rallied back behind a power play goal with under five minutes in regulation and followed it up with DeBace's first game-winning goal of the season 1:52 into the overtime period.
The Royals move to 3-11-0 on the year and 1-8-0 in MIAC play with three points in the standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel wasted no time getting on the board as
Lindsey Albers scored 57 seconds into the game.
• Concordia sent the teams into the first intermission knotted at 1-1 scoring with under 90 second to go.
• A scoreless second set up an exciting third period despite BU getting two power play opportunities and the Cobbers one.
• Special teams play highlighted the third as Concordia scored a power play goal with 12:54 left in regulation.
• The Royals responded with a power play goal of their own as
Julia Helget lit up the lamp with 4:55 left.
• In the 3-on-3 overtime Bethel peppered the Cobbers netminder finally getting their sixth shot on frame to go in off the stick of DeBace.
• Concordia led the shots on goal battl 37-33 while BU netminder
Anna Hanson picked up her third collegiate win with 35 saves.
