ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Behind its best shooting performance of the season so far, the Bethel University men's basketball team rolled to a 91-66 conference victory over St. Scholastica Wednesday evening inside the Robertson Center.

Bethel (5-11, 3-8 MIAC) shot a season-best 55.7 percent clip from the field (34-of-61) while going 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from behind the arc. St. Scholastica (4-12, 3-8 MIAC) finished 41.7 percent from the field. The Royals finished with four starters in double figures.

Bethel dominated the boards by a 32-35 margin and got 33 of its points off the bench compared to CSS' seven.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• The Royals never trailed as
Zach Doely scored BU's first six points of the game for a 6-4 lead, a lead BU would never give up, with 16:16 to go.
• Strong on the offensive glass, Bethel gave itself a second chance opportunity that allowed
Payton Thomsen to lay it off the glass for the Royals' largest lead of the half at 28-19.
• The Saints cut it to one with over a minute left thanks to an 8-2 run, but two free throws from
Sam Zilmer and coast-to-coast drive and a bucket from
Josh Hoffman sent BU into the break up 38-33.

Second Half
• After knocking down four threes in the first half, Bethel continued to hit from long distance with six second-half treys.
• Back-to-back-to-back threes from
Tommy Jensen over a 90-second stretch put the Royals up by 15 with 10:42 remaining.
• Bethel cleared its bench with under two minutes to go where
Joel Mekelburg stole the show scoring six points.
• A pair of free throw makes from
Aaron Loe gave the Royals their largest lead of the night at 89-61.

Zach Doely put in a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Joey Kidder had 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals.
