MINNEAPOLIS – In search of the its first MIAC win, the Bethel University women's hockey team was less than a second away from at least gaining one point until the Augsburg Auggies skated blue line to blue line scoring the game winner with 0.5 seconds left.

Anna Hanson kept Bethel in it with 36 saves as the Auggies outshot BU 38-16 in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the waning seconds of the first period
Lexi DeBace scored Bethel's first shorthanded goal of the season to go ahead 1-0.
• Killing off two penalties in the process they headed into the intermission up a goal.
• Augsburg tied it up with seven minutes left in the period, this coming after BU had already killed three penalties in the period.
• The Royals were limited to six shots on frame in the third while Augsburg lit up the lamp on its 13th.

The Royals and Auggies close out the series Saturday, Jan. 14 in Bethel University Arena with a 6 p.m. puck drop.
