MOORHEAD, MN - The Bethel University volleyball team had its opening MIAC match in Moorehead, MN on Monday. The Royals swept Concordia College in three tight sets scoring 27-25, 25-21, 25-18. This is the fifth consecutive win for BU, improving their record to 8-4, as the conference heavy second half of their season has begun.
How it Happened
- After a competitive early set, a service ace by Hannah Wilhite tied the first set 24-24
- Kirstin Cotter and Grace Solberg had back-to-back kills to end the first set 27-25
- Two 4-0 runs in favor of BU gave the Royals an early lead over the Cobbers in the second set that was challenged but never overtaken
- The Cobbers were never more than three points behind in set three until a 5-1 run pushed Bethel over the top
- The Royals played a perfect third set with 0 statistical errors, as compared to Concordia's 10
