ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Bethel University baseball assistant head coach and Assistant AD for Communications and Marketing,
Tim Beasley announced that he is resigning his post after spending the last 11 years with the Royals. Beasley will remain in his position through the end of the month before leaving to work in the private sector.
"The best word I have to describe my feelings right now is GRATEFUL! My heart is bursting with gratitude to many, many people who have made my time at Bethel so special and fulfilling," said Beasley. "This University, athletic department and baseball program has left such a wonderful and lasting mark on me and my family. While the decision to leave comes with mixed emotions, I am excited about where God has clearly led me to in this next chapter of life. To ALL our current and former baseball players & coaches, and especially coach Brian Raabe, thank you so much and I love you all! It's been so good to be a Royal and after this season (which has been incredible), you can add me to the growing list of faithful fans rooting hard for more continued success! Go Royals!"
Beasley came to Bethel as a full-time employee in 2012 where he began in the role as assistant baseball coach and assistant sports information director, one year after bring brought in as a part-time assistant and pitching coach. In 2018 he was promoted to Assistant AD for Strategic Communications and Marketing, overseeing all communications and marketing aspects, including branding for BU.Â
"I'm thankful for the heart that Tim has brought to Bethel and his genuine care for Bethel student-athletes," said Director of Athletics
Greg Peterson. "He has impacted our department and has served the baseball program so well. As I have had the opportunity to journey with Tim as he has worked through his decision, it has been apparent how much he cares for Bethel, Bethel athletics, his colleagues, and the student-athletes that he interacts with."Â
During his time he brought the pitching staff to new heights ranking among the national leaders in multiple categories and aiding the Royals to 30 wins in four of the past seven complete seasons. The Royals have led the MIAC in ERA in four of the last six seasons and currently lead the MIAC this year with a 3.36 ERA that ranks 12th nationally. Another highlight came in 2018 when "the staff" became the only team in college baseball with a sub-2.00 ERA at 1.98, an MIAC record. His 2022 pitching staff ranks second in the MIAC and 17th nationally with a 2.87 strikeout-to-walk ratio and is sixth nationally and first in the MIACÂ allowing only 2.52 walks per nine innings.
He has helped produced 12 MIAC All-Conference pitchers in 10 seasons, eight All-Region honorees and has placed eight pitchers in the summer collegiate Northwoods League.Â
"I would like to personally thank Tim for all his hard work, dedication, and friendship during the past 11 years that Tim and I have been coaching together here at Bethel University," said Raabe. "Tim has been a huge part of what we have been able to accomplish here at Bethel and will be missed. I am excited for Tim and his family as he goes on to the next chapter of his life."
On the communications side of things, one of Beasley's biggest projects came to life in April of 2020 with the launch of the official recruiting website for all 18 of Bethel's varsity sportsÂ
