Matthew Carlsen had a standout day at the dish driving in seven of the Royals 12 runs while going 3-for-5. The Bethel University baseball team picked up its ninth straight win defeating Crown 12-2 at Hargis Park.

Carlsen's seven RBIs is the most by a Royal since April 27, 2010 when Erik Anderson drove in six against Hamline.

Carlsen drove in the first run of the game in the third despite flying into a double play. In the fourth Carlsen capped out a seven-run inning launching a grand slam on the first pitch he saw over the right field fence.

Jordan Krupke drove in his second run of the day making it 9-1 in the fifth as he went 4-for-5 at the dish scoring three times.

Carlsen drove in two more on a single to left in the fifth extending the lead to double digits.

John Solfest picked up his first collegiate win giving up three hits in five innings of work. He surrendered one run and struck out four on 62 pitches.

The Royals (13-2) kick off the conference portion of its schedule Friday at Macalester. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul.
