MINNEAPOLIS – Continued success at the plate for the Bethel University baseball team led them to a non-conference sweep of Concordia Wisconsin Thursday afternoon inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Royals plated double-digit runs for the seventh time this season taking game one 11-4 producing those 11 runs on 16 hits, seven of which came on extra bases.
In game two the Royals had a 9-0 combined shutout effort from its pitching staff of
Max Sutter and
Ty Koehn. The young arm of Sutter tossed six scoreless innings recording a career-high nine strikeouts.
Noah Wenberg had a day at the plate going 5-for-7 with four doubles, a triple, two walks, five runs and three RBIs.
Keenan Hodgkin wasn't too far behind him at 3-for-6 with three doubles, two walks, two runs and five RBIs.

Bethel came out swinging putting up a four spot in their first plate appearance of the day. BU's first four hitters reached and all scored highlighted by Ty Kohen's two-RBI double to right.
Concordia put up a three spot on starter
Marcus Krupke in the third.
Noah Wenburg led off the fifth with a triple before being brought in a sacrifice fly by Hodgkin making it 6-3.
BU opened up the margin in the seventh with back-to-back RBI doubles from Wenberg and Hodkin capping out a five-run frame.
Game 2 | Bethel 9, Concordia (Wis.) 0
Sutter settled in nicely after working out of a jam in the second. The Falcons put runners on the corners early with a double and a single. Dialing in, Sutter got back-to-back looking strikeouts before fanning a third.
The Royals again scored in its first plate appearance of the game.

Two more for BU in the third and they led 3-0 thanks to back-to-back doubles by Wenberg and Hodgkin.
A leadoff single in the sixth for Concordia (Wis.) didn't faze Sutter as he got a lineout and two strikeouts. Sutter in his six innings of work gave up five hits while picking up his fourth win in as many starts.
The Royals added six insurance runs in the home half of the sixth where Wenberg and Hodgkin each drove in a pair.
