MOORHEAD, Minn. – Behind four starters in double figures, the Bethel University men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 79-64 victory at Concordia-Moorhead Monday evening.
Joey Kidder led the squad with 15 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists.
Zach Doely added 14 points and seven rebounds. In his first collegiate start,
Dom Aguilar added a career-high 14 points while
Tommy Jensen finished with 11 points.
Tied at 15-15 almost nine minutes in, BU went on a 10-0 run where everyone got involved in the offensive effort. The Royals defense forced the Cobber to go nearly seven minutes without a field goal.
Concordia pulled within four before the Royals closed the half on a 10-4 run good enough for a 35-25 lead at the half.
Tommy Jensen gave the Royals their largest lead of the night at 51-35 connecting from behind the arc with 14:22 remaining.
Bethel's lead never got to single digits having shot 53.3 percent from the floor in the second. The Royals helped their cause at the charity stripe finishing 12-of-13 on the night.
The Royals make a return to the Robertson Center Wednesday looking to avenge an overtime loss to St. Scholastica from a month ago. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
