DAY 1 RECAP
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel Royals placed 4
th at the MIAC Indoor Championships this weekend at Carleton College. The Royals scored 91 team points, led by event titles in the 55m hurdles and the weight throw.

PODIUM FINISHES
The Royals had three podium finishes on Saturday in the 600m, 4x400m relay, and shot put.
Joel Smith led the first two laps of the 600m and ended up in 2
nd place with a personal best of 1:21.69. Smith led off the 4x400m relay and joined teammates
Tyler Sealock,
David Myres, and
Jacob Parent to take 2
nd place in a time of 3:22.40.
Gabe Irons took 2
nd in the shot put with his toss of 15.05m / 49'4.5" to go along with is title in the weight throw from Friday.
POINT SCORERS
Bethel earned 5 points from the 4x200m relay team's 4
th place finish. The team of Sealock, Myres,
Alec Braun, and
Cort Doyle ran 1:33.02.
Jacob Parent added another 4
th place finish with his time of 22.74 seconds in the 200m dash, just 0.01 from 3
rd place. Freshman
Harrison Nistler in the triple jump. Nistler's best jump of 12.85m / 42'2", was just 2 inches short of his personal best, and good enough for 8
th place.
UP NEXT
The Royals will compete again next weekend at Wartburg College for a final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. The top 20 individuals and top 12 relays from across Division III will be invited to the National Championships on March 11

th in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
