MINNEAPOLIS – The seventh seeded Bethel University men's basketball team saw its season come to an end with an 82-66 loss to seconded seeded Augsburg in the MIAC Quarterfinals. Bethel didn't go down without a fight only trailing by five with 10 minutes left in the second before the Auggies pulled away with baskets in transition.

Zach Filzen, the Royals finish 12-13 overall and 8-10 in MIAC play. BU had won three of its final five games of the year.

Sophomore
Zach Doely matched a career-high 28 points and 12 rebounds going 13-of-18 from the field. Freshman
Dom Aguilar put up a career-high 16 points behind four 3-pointers.
Joey Kidder finished with seven boards, five assists and six points.

Bethel opened the game on a 9-2 run garnering what would be its largest lead of the night. After Augsburg tied it up following the first media timeout, Bethe took the lead back four about another two minutes.

The lead shifted to Augsburg with 11:20 left in the first half while BU kept it close. With the Auggies beating the halftime horn, BU trailed 41-33.

There was no shortage of scoring early in the second half. An 11-0 run capped off by a free throw from Doely gave BU the lead at 51-50 with 14:35 remaining.

Augsburg responded with a 9-0 run of its own taking back the lead for good over a two-minute stretch. The Royals would get no closer than seven the rest of the way as they were limited to only two field goals in the final 3:20.
