ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Finishing 8-10 in MIAC play with a winning percentage of .444, the Bethel University men's basketball team earned the No. 7 seed in the MIAC Playoffs which includes all 12 teams this year due to COVID-19 effects throughout the season. The Royals are set to host No. 10 seed Concordia on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The winner of Saturday's game advances to the quarterfinals taking on No. 2 seed Augsburg in Minneapolis at 7:45 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
• The Royals are riding a 10-game winning streak against the Cobbers dating back to February 15, 2017. BU took both meetings this year winning the first at home 83-60 before taking the road contest last week in Moorhead 79-64.
• At home, Bethel boasts a 37-10 all-time record against Concordia dating back to the first matchup on January 7, 1978 where BU won 63-62.
MIAC PLAYOFF HISTORY
• The Royals are making their ninth straight appearance in the MIAC Playoffs and 25th overall. They hold a 21-22 (.488) record in those games while boasting tournament champion titles in 1991 and 2017. Against Concordia in the conference tournament, Bethel is 4-0.
DEFENSE! DEFENSE!
• The Royals are a top five defensive squad in the MIAC giving up a 68.3 points per game. They rank second in the MIAC, just behind Saint John's, in field goal percentage defense with their opponents shooting 42.8 percent this season.
• Bethel ranks third in the MIAC in steals per game (6.3) and 3-point field goal defense (32.3) while ranking fourth in turnovers forced (11.74).
THE DOELY FILE
• Sophomore Zach Doely has been an offensive threat from the start appearing in all 23 games while starting in 22 of them. The Stillwater, Minn. native leads the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game while leading the league in shooting at an even 60 percent.
• On the defensive side of things, he is tied with Saint Mary's Caden Freetly with 35 blocks this season and is third with 7.5 rebounds per game.
• A double-double machine, Doely ranks second in the MIAC with seven double-double performances including Wednesday's 19-point, 11-rebound effort at Carleton. His career-high 28 points at Wisconsin-Platteville on Nov. 27 was the most by a Royal since Jack Jenson's 34 points against Augsburg on December 1, 2018.
BALANCED ATTACK
• Bethel's scoring comes in a collective effort with three different players averaging double figures. Behind Doely's 14.7 points per game, senior Jaren Tschetter is not too far behind with 12.6. Tommy Jensen is averaging 12.1 on 44.7 percent.
• Tschetter has posted double figures in 12 games this season while Jensen has reached it in 15 games including BU's last six games.
• Off the bench, Myles Coleman averages 7.9 points per game in 15.9 minutes.
