NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel University men's basketball team cut its double-digit deficit to a lone possession before eventually falling to Carleton, 68-59. The loss lands the Royals with a seven seed in the MIAC Playoffs hosting Concordia at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Zach Doely led the team in scoring with 19 points adding 11 rebounds for the double-double performance.
Tommy Jensen finished with 12 points.
Jaren Tschetter finished with a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points.

Tschetter opened second half with a 3-pointer as Bethel began its comeback efforts began. A fast break layup from
Myles Coleman with 9:36 remaining cut the damage to single digits.

A three ball from
Dom Aguilar on one possession followed by a layup from Jensen got the Royals withing 59-56 with 4:33 remaining. The Knights though put it away at the free throw line while keeping Bethel off the scoreboard the final two minutes.

The Royals only lead of the night came in the opening 1:59 of the game. Carleton then picked up steam from the floor, especially from behind the arc where they hit eight 3-pointers. The Knights closed the half on a 12-0 run taking a 44-28 lead at the break.
