MOORHEAD, Minn. – A three-goal opening period for Concordia led way for the Bethel University men's hockey team to split with the host Cobbers dropping the series finale, 5-1.
The Royals moved to 13-9-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the MIAC with a points possible percentage of .476 keeping them fourth in the MIAC standings.
Adam Bricker had the Royals lone goal scoring for the second straight game. His goal came at the 11:41 mark in the second, denying the Cobbers of a shutout.
Concordia put up three goals in the first that was kick started by a power play goal 5:29 in. They added two more with goals at the 5:33 mark and 8:54 in the second.
Bethel kept the Cobbers off the board in the third, but couldn't put a tally up of their own despite out shooting Concordia 12-6.
BU's special teams didn't have its best day going 0-for-4 on the man advantage. The penalty kill went 2-for-3.
Bethel wraps up the regular season next weekend with Saint Mary's. Friday's game will take place in Winona with Saturday's regular season finale and senior day taking place at 7 p.m. in Blaine.
