ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's basketball team improved to 16-7 on the year and 15-5 in MIAC play with a dominate 80-48 victory over Macalester on Senior Day.
Prior to the game, the Royals honored seniors in
Makenna Pearson,
Bella Williams and
Megan Boegel for their time and dedicate to the program.
Kat Brown-Erdal led the Royals in scoring with 14 points while knocking down both of her three attempts.
Courtney Nuest finished with 11 points and six steals while
Hayden Glander finished with 10.
A well-executed inbounds play resulting in a layup for Glander gave Bethel at 15-14 lead at the first break.
Bethel went on a 17-0 run over a near five-minute stretch in the second pushing its lead to double digits. A turnaround jumper from
Anna Garfield sent the Royals into the locker room up 40-23.
Glander moved BU's lead to 56-36 with 2:03 left in the third. The Royals offense stayed consistent out of the break shooting 52.9 percent in the quarter.
The Royals bench did most of the work in the fourth accounting for 11 of their 18 points. A layup for
Lydia Hagstrom with under a minute remaining gave BU its largest lead of the afternoon at 80-46.
Bethel hits the road Monday traveling to St. Olaf for a 5:45 p.m. tipoff.
