BLANE, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team suffered its first loss of the season dropping its home opener to St. Olaf, 2-1. The Royals couldn't capitalize on its man advantage opportunities going 0-for-5 while also being narrowly out shot 26-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• A defensive first period saw a combined 10 shots between to the two squads and only one power play opportunity in favor of BU.
• The Oles broke the scoreless tie with a goal 40 seconds before the second intermission.
• St. Olaf pushed its lead to a pair scoring 1:55 into the third.
• Despite three power plays already in the third alone, BU pulled goalie
Austin Ryman for the extra attacker for the final 2:32 of regulation.

Sam Wilhite was able to score his second goal of the season denying the Oles of a shutout with two seconds remaining.
• In the faceoff circle BU won 35 draws comparted to the 22 for St. Olaf.
Jarrett Cammarata won 17 of his potential 21 faceoffs.
