ST. PETER, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with Gustavus Adolphus before winning the shootout to earn two points in the MIAC standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gustavus Adolphus scored its lone goal at the 4:04 mark in the first period.
• Despite outshooting the Gusties 12-5 and having two power plays, the Royals took the one goal deficit into the first intermission.

Adam Bricker evened it six minutes into the second with his first goal of the season.
Braeden Bartoo picked up the assist as it was his initial shot that was saved and rebounded to Bricker.
• The Royals killed off two penalties in the third where GAC took a combined six shots on the man advantage.

Travis Allen fended off the Gusties' last opportunity to avoid overtime with 30 seconds left in regulation. Allen collected 23 saves.
• Bethel had eight shots on frame during the 3-on-3, five-minute overtime skate.

• Allen made a pad save on GAC's first attempt while the Gusties shooter in the second round whiffed not getting a shot on frame.
