BLAINE, Minn. – After recovering from an early two-goal deficit, the Bethel University women's hockey team couldn't hold off St. Olaf Saturday afternoon dropping the series finale 4-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In a near repeat of their first period against St. Olaf on Friday the Royals allowed two goals and trailed at the first intermission.
• The Royals responded though in the second with a goal from
Emily Roder, her first of the season, 4:47 into the period.
• BU's special team's, who were 0-for-3 in the first period, were finally able to light up the lamp on the man advantage where
Ally Halverson tied it up at two apiece.
• The tie was quickly dismissed by two goals from St. Olaf over a 1:40 stretch.
• Less than two minutes into the third period,
Lindsey Albers scored cutting the deficit to a goal. • BU had several more opportunities for to tie it up, including two power plays in the third period, but were unable to rally.
WHAT'S NEXT
Bethel has a big task on their hands next week with a series against nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus. Puck drop Friday, Nov. 18 at the Bethel University Arena in Blaine is 7 p.m.
