ST. PAUL, MN - The Bethel Royals volleyball team made a short drive to Macalester College for their second to last match of the season. In yet another sweep the Royals beat Macalester with scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-22. BU is now 15-9 (7-3) and clinch a spot in the MIAC Playoffs. The Royals go into their final game of the season sitting at third in the MIAC standings.Â
How it Happened
- BU took a timeout early as Macalester went on a 6-1 run in the first set
- Bethel fought back with a 5-1 run of their own but it was a 3-0 run in the final stages of the set that allowed them to take set one
- The score of the second set was never more than a point off until BU went on a 3-0 run to go up 14-11
- The Royals ended the set on a 6-2 run to go on to a two set advantage
- MC's offense came out firing with a 6-0 run to start the third set
- A 4-0 run by Bethel brought them to within two and a 5-0 run later in the set allowed them to take the lead
- Despite Macalester bringing the match to within one, BU closed out the third set with two unanswered points and took the match
