MINNEAPOLIS – The Bethel University men's hockey team surrounded eight unanswered goals falling to No. 4 Augsburg 8-2 in the series opener Friday evening.
The Royals went up 2-0 before the Auggies lit the lamp four times each in the second and third period.
Dane Stoyanoff put the Royals on the board less than six minutes into the game with his second goal of the year.

The Royals took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission before Jack Baylles put BU up 2-0 with a goal 2:15 into the second.
Augsburg pulled within one over two minutes later before evening it up 12:43 into the second. The Auggies added two more in the second before scoring four goals in the third.
Bethel's special teams killed off both Auggie power players on the night allowing only one shot.
BU looks to bounce back in the series finale Saturday night at Bethel University Arena. Puck drop is schedule for 7 p.m.
