BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Junior
Anna Tollefson was named the MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, following a stellar weekend performance where she won the individual title at the CSB Invite.
Tollefson's career-best 71 (-1) in the second round, also the second-lowest round in Bethel history, propelled her to the top of the leaderboard at the CSB Invite after sitting in a tie for eighth carding a 79 (+7) in the first round. Shooting a 36-hole career-best 150 (+6), she earned her second career individual title tallying six birdies for the weekend and leading all individuals with 19 pars.
The No. 17-ranked Bethel University women's golf team sat in fourth place, of the 12-team field, where they were six strokes off the lead (323, +35). That proved to be no challenge for the Royals to overcome in their first tournament of the 2021 season. BU went on to shave off nine strokes carding a 314 (+26) and winning the CSB Invite with a 637 total score. BU edged out No. 24 Carleton and No. 8 St. Catherine by a stroke after both teams entered the day tied for the lead.
Tollefson and the Royals head to Waverly, Iowa this weekend participating in the Wartburg Inviational.
