WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Bethel University women's tennis squad headed to Wisconsin-Whitewater this past weekend competing in the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional and Division III Midwest Open.
 
Grace Riermann entered as the field's No. 1 overall seed in the singles draw, looking to defend her title from 2019. Riermann battled her way into the round of 16 where she defeated the No. 10 seed Ioanna Giannakou of Grinnell in convincing fashion 6-1, 6-3. Riermann would fall though in the quarterfinals 6-4, 6-3 to seventh seeded and eventual runner-up Autumn Bruno of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
 
Sydney Rott took her opening match 6-2, 6-0 before falling in the round of 64 to No. 3-seeded Kelsey Dorr.
 
In the doubles draw, playing together for just their second time ever and first since 2018-19, Riermann and Rott earned the top doubles seed. They cruised to the Round of 16 before facing their first challenge where they advanced with an 8-6 score. In the semifinals, they would fall to the eventual champions from Wisconsin-Whitewater, 8-4.
