ST. PETER, Minn. - The Bethel University women's tennis team saw its 2021 season come to a close Friday afternoon dropping a close MIAC Playoff semifinal match at Gustauvs Adolphus, 5-3.
Bethel took a 2-1 lead winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in convincing fashion. After GAC took No. 6 singles,
Maggie Riermann gave BU another point winning in straight sets. Gustavus took a 4-3 lead winning No. 4 and No. 5 singles leaving it down to
Grace Riermann and
Mackenzie Novak. Each won their opening set before dropping the second and forcing a third set. Riermann and Novak both played their oppenonts about as tight as you can get before the Gusties ultimately came away with a No. 3 singles win ending the match.
The Royals concluded the season with a 10-7 overall record.
