WINONA, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team continued their outstanding play in the truncated 2021 season with a 2-0 victory on the road against Saint Mary's University. The Royals bested the Cardinals for the second time in the last five days after defeating them 4-1 in Bethel University Arena on Saturday.
BU scored both of the games goals in the second period.
Alex Belde scored the first off an assist from
Emily Roder and
Grace Halvorson scored the other from
Lexi DeBace.
Baleigh Shuck recorded the shutout in net by making 21 saves. BU held a 28-21 shot advantage.
The win improves Bethel to 5-2-1 on the season. Royals will have their season finale on Saturday when they host the University of St. Thomas for the final time before the Tommies make the jump to the WCHA in NCAA Division I next season. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. in Bethel University Arena.
