Five Royals Earn D3football.com All-Region Honors

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - A total of five Bethel University football players earned All-Region honors from D3football.com. Freshman safety Nate Farm and senior cornerback Tavian Swanson were both given first team honors while senior offensive lineman Jack Fiedler was named to the second team and junior quarterback Jaran Roste and junior offensive lineman Travis Sinclair were on the third team. This is the 17th season D3football.com has named all-region teams. The All-America teams will be announced on the evening of Friday, Dec. 17, at the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

Farm and Swanson were stalwarts in the Bethel secondary that picked off an MIAC leading 19 passes and was second in pass defense in the MIAC. Farm was the league leader with six interceptions while also returning a fumble 99-yards for a touchdown in the Royals season opener at North Park. Swanson, a senior from Burlington, Washington, often had the challenge of covering the opposing team's best receiver and finished with two interceptions, seven pass breakups, a fumble recovery and was the third leading tackler with 57. Fiedler became only the 10th MIAC player in recorded history to be a part of four All-Conference teams while earning his first All-Region award. The senior allowed only one sack all season while playing both tackle and mainly guard in 2021. Roste is one of 12 Gagliardi Trophy semifinalists as he earned his frist All-Region team award in his career. Both the first and second team quarterbacks are also Gagliardi Trophy semifinalists as well. The junior led the MIAC in passing efficiency with a 165.3 rating, completing 182 of 278 passes (65.5%) for 2,622 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for 455 yards and 13 touchdowns, the second most in the MIAC. Sinclair, a junior from Rogers, Minn. did not allow a sack all season while, like Fiedler, also playing both tackle and primarily guard during the season.

Players who are first- or second-team all-conference or independants at full Division III members are eligible for nomination. In 2021, 1,036 players were nominated. All players nominated for All-Region teams are eligible for selection to the D3football.com All-America team in December. However, the All-America team is made up primarily of players named to the All-Region first or second teams.
